To help avoid cassette tapes getting wiped by security scanning equipment when sending abroad via air mail, you can either clearly mark on the customs label that it contains cassette tapes or you could apply one of these stickers to identify the items as being magnetically sensitive media that shouldn't be scanned.

We have had issues where customers have said that when posting cassette tapes abroad via airmail, they sometimes arrive blank with the end recipients. We spoke to Royal Mail in the UK and they said that whilst they can't discuss exactly which scanners are used, there is a manual process where any suspicious items may be scanned in a strong magnetic field and whilst the operators will check customs labels to see if the contents include anything that may be sensitive to magnetic media, if it is not completed or a customs label is not used then the item may be scanned and the data on the tape lost. It was indicated that stickers like these may help to avoid the cassette tapes from being scanned in this way. We also know that the issue is not just one for sending abroad from the UK as we have had customers in other countries sending abroad that have had the same issue.

The labels measure 35mm x 24mm with 2mm radium corners and have a permanent adhesive back.
